Submit letter of intent by June 6 for 2017 ASMF Strategic Research Awards

Applicants have until June 6 to submit a letter of intent for the 2017 award cycle for the ASMF Strategic Research Award (SRA) Category I and Category II.

This is a focused request for applications (RFA) soliciting applications in specific topic areas that will advance the field of sleep medicine. The topics for this RFA include: circadian rhythm sleep-wake disorders, hypopnea scoring criteria, pediatric sleep-disordered breathing, collaborative care models across specialties, telemedicine for sleep-disordered breathing, and treatments for narcolepsy and other disorders of hypersomnia. Studies of other high-impact areas of sleep research will also be considered.

Applicants who are a member of the AASM in good standing, possess a masters level degree or higher and have access to the necessary resources (including the proposed patient population), facilities and other resources needed to perform the proposed work are eligible to apply for this award. Projects must be performed by United States based investigators and institutions. No projects outside the United States will be funded.

A letter of intent (LOI) is required must be received by the ASMF no later than 11:59 p.m. CDT on June 6, 2017. The LOI review will determine whether the applicant will be invited to submit a full application for consideration. Applications will be due no later than 11:59 p.m. CDT, September 5, 2017.
